Think About It....

Don't Give Up

I have often wondered how many victories could have been won if only the person hadn't given up? How many careers were lost, or how many relationships lost because someone gave up? How many dreams were broken or how many lives changed because someone gave up?

In case you haven't noticed, life can be hard. It isn't always easy and the rewards don't always go to the intelligent, smartest or the most talented. They often go to the ones who didn't give up. It has often been said that many who made the team were not necessarily the best, but they were the ones that persevered. They pushed themselves when others would quit. They set goals for themselves that were far beyond their competitors. Obstacles became things to conquer, not walls that couldn't be climbed.

I sometimes wonder if we're raising a generation of non-achievers. I recently talked to a young man who shared that his life was absorbed in video games. Sadly, he was not the first. I've talked with others who have claimed the same. I've invited others to join me in events only to be told that they didn't do that. Upon further inquiry it was revealed that they didn't do much that challenged them out of their comfort zones.

A study of history will reveal many great men and women who were successful because they didn't give up. Did you know that Bill Gates' first business failed or that Jim Carrey was once homeless? Stephen King had his first novel rejected 30 times before it was published and Thomas Edison had 1000 failures before he created the light bulb. The Apostle Paul said it this way: "I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us" (Phil 3:14). The point is simple; having your eyes fixed upon something that is greater in the future motives us to press on in the moment. Don't give up, your victory is coming.

Think about it.

Sometimes the best thing someone can do is give up and try a different path.

Banging your head against a wall only gives you a sore head.

They are nice words you wrote, but hanging in there for the sake of doing so is not always wise.

Everyone should have realistic expectations and a healthy understanding of when an investment of time, money or effort just isn't paying off.

The trick is in identifying that point before you enter into a pursuit, so that you aren't making emotional decisions of the heart, but informed and calculated decisions of the mind.

The mind God gave you.
Don't be afraid to use it.

Think about it.

In today's world you can be to biggest loser of all and get the best rewards. Just see what the young soldier , the President traded five here from Gitmo and several more from prison in the combat zone and several millions of dollars for leaving his army post to be with the enemy. Look at all who are retiring from the IRS and HHSC plus other agencies of the government , are getting. Hundreds of thousands of dollars a month for lying and cheating. So rewards don't always go to the good guys and gals.
Our young marine lies in prison in Mexico because he made a wrong turn. You think the President or State dept. will help him, I don't think they will. The President won't even go to the border to see what he created

I am afraid that our country is turning into a nation of handouts. The i deserve it without working culture being created by the powers that be to keep them in power. And the lie, cheat ,steal whatever it takes to get the money! Heck right in my small town there are people scamming the elderly for whatever they can get. Even their own family members social security checks! So sad to see !
