RIDGWAY -- A West Virginia man was killed and a woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Elk County this afternoon.

Glenn W. Grogg, 67, of Anmoore, W.Va., was pronounced dead at the scene after a 1997 Mercury Voyager driven by Mary V. Grogg, 73, of Anmoore, left the roadway and hit a tree while traveling north on Route 66 in Highland Township at about 3:30 p.m., according to state police. Mary Grogg fell asleep before the accident, investigators said.

Mary Grogg was flown to UPMC Hamot, where she is listed in serious condition tonight.
