The Galeton Rotary Club meets Thursday evening at 6:30 Pm at the Ox Yoke Inn with president Pete Folk presiding.

On August 7th the club had a recap of the annual Woodsmen's Show. It was the 62nd anniversary of this popular event. This year it was classified as a success in spite of a rainy Sunday. Many suggestions were presented to improve the show for 2015.

On August 14 George Bowen presented Mansfield U. professor Dr. Lee Wright. Dr Wright gave a very interesting talk about a student honors trip this year to Nova Scotia. 14 state universities were involved. Dr Wright told all of the details of arranging this special trip.

On August 21, was a joint meeting with the Coudersport club. Jason E. Piatt, district governor for district 7360 addressed the two clubs about his goals for this year and 2015. Governor Piatt spoke about how his club undertook a project to bring clean water to a small farming village in India. Their effort was successful and it greatly benefited this town since clean water was not available. Rotary works internationally to bring clean water to those who do not have it and the Rotary program to eradicate polio is a very successful on going project. Governor Piatt is the youngest serving district governor in the world. The theme for Rotary International this year is 'LIGHT UP ROTARY' ON A WORLDWIDE BASIS.
