Ambushed Troopers Identified; 2nd Trooper Critical; Reward Offered; No One In Custody

WNEP--UPDATE 2:30 p.m. — State Police commissioner Frank Noonan identifies Corporal Bryon Dickson as the state police member killed in Friday night’s ambush at the barracks in Blooming Grove, Pike County. Trooper Alex Douglass was wounded. He is in critical condition.

Noonan says no suspect or suspects are in custody. Noonan says the attack seems to be directed at law enforcement, not the general public. They believe that whoever carried out the shooting is no longer in the immediate area.

PA Crime Stoppers is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. Call (800) 4PA-TIPS (800-472-8477).

True Sadness For PSP said...

Sympathies for the trooper's family and all extended members of the PSP family and law enforcers everywhere. For those who wrote the disparaging comments on this blog last week about PSP and police in general that we all read, "Question their authority", "they are all bad, just because they're cops" Feel any sadness or remorse? Sad commentary to our society nowadays.

There's ALWAYS more to the story than what's being reported. It's never a time to celebrate when someone loses their life. That being said, one can not expect too much sympathy from the public when police departments all over the nation have become militarized and our enemy. To "protect and serve" has become obsolete. Expect more blow-back as things get worse.

Why would I feel remorse, do they feel remorse when they kill unarmed people? Do they feel remorse when they brutally beat someone? Do they feel remorse when they file charges because they can, not because the law was actually broken?

to all people who don't respect the law don't brake it, and the cops wont have to beat your ass
