Donation to Library Building Fund
Terri (Booth) Shaffer, a classmate and Library Trustee, brought a table-top model of the future building and explained the how the new building will function. She also shared information on some of the programs the Library provides to the community, particularly free internet access to families who may not be able to afford in-home service. The Library provides a lending collection including books, reference materials, periodicals, recorded books, DVDs and more to the community free of charge. Programming at the library includes story hour and other programs for children, book club, programs for adults, and public space for open dialogue on critical issues.
“We so appreciate the generous support of the Class of 1974 as we begin a capital campaign to help make our dream of a new library a reality that will benefit our community for years to come,” says Jane Metzger, Library Board President. Coudersport Public Library Trustees have embarked on a unique plan to use local resources to build a new structure adjacent to the current library building. A capital campaign committee is being organized with Georgianna Leete, Anne Acker and Linda Lane volunteering to serve as co-chairpersons to work to raise the funds needed to complete the project.
