Harry Conrad Johnson, 88, of 1753 Haskell Road, Olean, NY, a former Bolivar resident

Harry Conrad Johnson, 88, of 1753 Haskell Road, Olean, NY,  and a former Bolivar resident, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 9, 2014) in the loving arms of his children at the Hart Comfort House, Wellsville.

Born on Jan. 13, 1926, in Cuba, he was a son of Harry and Nina Hatch Johnson. On Dec. 25, 1944, he married the former Shirley McKay in Cuba. 

WWII Veteran
Mrs. Johnson preceded him in death June 3, 2008.

Mr. Johnson was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps 14th A.C.E.S. squadron, 9th Marine Aircraft Wing. 

He was employed by Dresser Rand Corp., Wellsville, retiring after many years of service.

Harry enjoyed all sports: baseball, football, hunting, fishing and golf, to name a few. He was a member of the NRA and a true outdoorsman.

Surviving are four children, Conrad (Sue) Johnson of Mineral Wells W.Va., Dawn (Lou) Frungillo of Olean and Margo (David) Thornton and Randy (Jeany) Johnson, both of Bolivar; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Marie Frungillo; and a brother, James Johnson. 

There will be no prior visitation or funeral service. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the Hart Comfort House, 141 E. State St., Wellsville NY 14895.
