Louis Rizzo
Louis Rizzo, 86, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of 10 Canal St., Lewis Run, PA,  passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his residence.
Born October 3, 1927 in Lewis Run, he was a son of the late Alfred Louis and Josephine (Minucci) Rizzo.

On September 6, 1952 in St. Bernard Church before Fr. Martin Grady, he married Martha L. Harris, who survives.

US Navy Veteran
He attended grade school in Lewis Run, went to Bradford High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 1, 1945 and was honorably discharged September 27, 1949. He was recalled to duty on October 4, 1950 and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy on February 6, 1952.

Mr. Rizzo was employed as a skilled tool and die maker for most of his working career. He began working for Corning, then worked for RR Reck, Dresser Manufacturing, Jarrett Machine Shop and then for BMW, which became TriCo Industries, where he retired after many years of service.

He was active in the International Association of Aerospace & Machinist Workers, Local #1644 and served as Financial Treasurer and a Labor Negotiator.

He was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Lewis Run, American Legion Post #108 and The VFW, Post #212.

Mr. Rizzo was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler, Penguin and Pirate fan and a fan of St. Bonaventure Basketball. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and spending time at the Seneca Allegany Casino.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by three daughters, Cathy M. (Mark) Garrett, of Lewis Run, Louise Comes, of Bradford and Mary (Joseph) M. Wedge, of Bradford; one son, Al (Donna) L Rizzo, of Mt. Lebanon six grandchildren, Jennifer Garrett, Matt Comes, Nicole Reid, Marc Rizzo, Eric Rizzo and Allison Rizzo, two great grandchildren Vera Reid and Camille Reid, and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Varone and a brother, Leo Rizzo.

Friends are invited to call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM, Monday, September 22, 2014 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Avenue, where a prayer service will be held at 9:15 AM, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, with Rev. Steven Collins, pastor as Celebrant. Committal services and mausoleum entombment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Lewis Run Volunteer Fire Department, The Upbeat Fund at The Bradford Hospital Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
