Rt.49 is closed from the Gold intersection to Ulysses. All traffic is being re-routed over Fox Hill or through Genesee on the Hicox-Ulysses Road. They said it will be 7 to 8 hours before the 49 opens again.

Jackie Wilson, REV Hoopes Trucking, LLC has left a new comment on your post "Propane Truck Rolled Over On Route 49 Near Empson ...":
This situation was handled with precision and care. Our drivers, mechanics, and COO Preston Hoopes were all on scene (Preston having flown himself in within 20 minutes of the incident) acted with decisiveness and worked together to make sure that no one was in danger. We take safety very seriously and our disaster recovery planning paid off. Thank you for the concern, Ulysses residents, but our company has nothing to do with "the gas boom". Perhaps those concerned with what the REV companies actually do should read up about us.

This could be a very dangerous call. I hope the public stays away from scene. Hopefully everything will go well and no one will be injured.

Correction, this is NOT a propane truck/trailer and there is/was no leak, the driver was not entrapped, really wish people had the facts before giving out information to be placed on the internet!

Expect more of this as roads crumble due to heavy truck traffic and inexperienced workers fill gas boom positions.

To Vicki: The information posted is exactly as was originally dispatched by the 911 center. Obviously 911 was given this information which many times is not completely accurate, but the only info available at the time. We are unable to hear your units on the other side of the hill from us, so after the initial dispatch, we are in the dark except for the information on the web cad. We welcome those on scene who have correct facts to update the information for us. The other op0tion is to wait until next week when the PSP sends out a news release before we report it.

This area also has a recorded problem with gravity or strange forces pulling things out of their normal way, just like Kane.
Hope everyone is careful in this area

What do they do what does REV stand for

Very well said Jackie Wilson, and I appreciate your reply Jim, that being said...I was very disappointed to read that many mistakes made by whom ever reported this incident to 911, unbelievable.

I would rather have the caller say there was a leak and there wasn't then not say it and there was. Not everyone knows the right information but I would rather have safety information like possible gas leak stated and not be true than not be stated and be true. That could have turned out deadly.

REV stands for Revolutionary.
Rev Hoopes Trucking LLC
REV LNG
REV LNG Marine
REV LNG Clean Energy
REV H2O
These are the companies I have the pleasure of working for as well as Jackie Wilson.

REV Hoopes Trucking, REV LNG, REV H20, et al are all part of a sustainable energy initiative to use liquified natural gas to power our own fleet and supply LNG to other companies. As clean energy transitions from a "good idea" to a regulatory necessity for fleet vehicles, the REV (short for revolutionary) companies are acting as pioneers in the industry, utilizing and testing the newest technologies and using their own innovation to improve its efficiency. For anyone else who is interested, the REV LNG site is a wealth of information. http://revlng.com/
