BISSELL Pet Foundation Grant Awarded to Animal Care Sanctuary in Wellsboro

BISSELL Pet Foundation Grant Awarded to Animal Care Sanctuary in Wellsboro

Animal Care Sanctuary was awarded a grant in the amount of $3,300 from BISSELL Pet Foundation for a surgical spot light and surgical preparation clippers for the Wellsboro Community Clinic. The clinic is on the Animal Care Sanctuary grounds in Wellsboro and is operational one day per week to provide spay/neuter and wellness visits to the pet owners of Tioga County as well as to our own animals. Veterinarian Alaire Smith-Miller DVM states “the addition of the surgical light will be such an asset to our productivity and work environment. While the house on the property is ideal for pet owners to come, the lighting is poor and this will make such a positive difference. Also the clippers will allow for more comfort for the animals and efficiency for the vet techs. We are grateful to BISSELL Pet Foundation for awarding us the light and clippers.”

The BISSELL Pet Foundation is proud to support the efforts of organizations that work every day to advocate and care for shelter pets. The need by animal welfare organizations across the country is overwhelming, making our award of the grant even more rewarding.

Animal Care Sanctuary, a non-profit 501c3, is one of the largest sanctuaries in the United States. In 2013 we adopted 553 pets, performed 3859 spay/neuter services, provided 2452 clinic appointments and 5712 hours of volunteer time were contributed. Animal Care Sanctuary is planning on increasing the clinic days to two per week this fall.
