HARRISBURG — A top aide to Gov. Tom Corbett embroiled in a scandal involving sexually-explicit emails exchanged when Corbett was attorney general resigned Thursday, effective immediately, the governor's office said.

E. Christopher Abruzzo, a member of Corbett's Cabinet heading environmental regulation, was among eight men whose names Attorney General Kathleen Kane made public from an office email exchange involving pornographic photos and videos.

Abruzzo was secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection. He has declined comment since Kane's office showed the images to reporters last month.

In his resignation letter, Abruzzo, 48, said he couldn't recall specific events that reporters described but took full responsibility “for any lack of judgment I may have exhibited in 2009. I do not condone that behavior and it is not a reflection of the person and professional that I am.”

Interesting this crops up right before an election. I think a complete investigation with all state employee emails should be made, not just the republicans. Bet ya a bunch of democrats are guilty as well.
Nice to know my tax dollars are spent on paying people to send porno emails. No wonder our country if so messed up.

It's a good thing net porn wasn't prevalent during Slick Willies reign.

the investigation has been ongoing for some time. employee emails ARE monitored regularly; it's management that does the checking, so this is unusual that upper level people get caught.

there was plenty of net porn during Clinton's time. it wasn't that long ago.

why are the first two posters deflecting the blame here? What, those grand old republicans who tout Judeo-Christian values, moral superiority, and claim to have God on their side aren't capable of stuff like this? Wake up. Grow up too.
