Women Leaders Recognize Congressman Thompson

DUBOIS, PA – A Press Conference will be on Monday, October 20th, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the DuBois Business College, 1 Beaver Drive, DuBois, PA 15801 to recognize the leadership of Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson on women's and family issues.

Congressman Thompson is a legislative leader supporting and recognizing the challenges of balancing family and work, in addition to supporting legislation to reduce government-created hardships.

  • He has a record of supporting legislation that provides for safety, including the Violence Against Women Act, and strengthening our local police forces.
  • As a senior member on the Natural Resources Committee, he knows the gas price at the pump is a strain on the budget, and leads efforts for affordable domestic energy.
  • As a former healthcare professional, he knows the important role women in the family serve in making healthcare decisions, and works to make healthcare affordable and accessible.
“Congressman Thompson always works hard for Pennsylvania families like yours and works every day to improve the economy and to create jobs,” said Jackie Syktich, President of DuBois Business College.  “Congressman Thompson leads the efforts to make education affordable and accessible, so that individuals have opportunity and therefore families benefit.”

“Congressman GT Thompson is a leader on jobs and job training. His legislative leadership expands access to the job training and education needed to secure greater opportunity. He champions youth engagement and preparing young people for success in life and careers,” said Cheryl M. Johnson, Executive Director, Private Industry Council of the Central Corridor.

Oh yes, the republican way. Women stay home and raise the children and don't leave the house, except to go get groceries of course. If you do go out and get a job, you deserve half the pay of what your male counterpart doing the same job is getting.

By their very nature, politicians are the biggest narcissists known to man.

What women's organization is presenting this award? Funny how it fails to mention that! Sounds pretty fishy. This press release is coming from Thompson's own campaign and both of the women quoted in it are big Republican donors/supporters. The one is even quoted on Thompson's website. Looks more like a political stunt and perhaps an opportunity for a fake photo op!
