Big Brothers, Big Sisters Holds First Session Of School Based Mentoring Program In Port Allegany School District

The Guidance Center’s McKean County Big Brothers Big Sisters program held its first school based mentoring session on November 17th at Port Allegany Elementary School. The McKean County Truancy Initiative supports school based mentoring services. Mr. Steve Appleby, Director of the Eldred World War II Museum, delivered a special presentation about Veteran’s Day as well as his own personal experience serving our country. High School ‘Bigs’ and Elementary School ‘Littles met for the first time and participated in tutoring, coloring, and board games.

BBBS staff members facilitate each session and support the ‘Bigs’ in helping their ‘Littles’ reach their individual goals. The program is held every Monday afternoon at the Port Allegany Elementary School. If you would like more information about becoming a mentor contact Big Brothers Big Sisters locally at 814-887-5591 or toll-free at 1-877-776-1636.

GREAT JOB ,STEVE. RECRUIT THEM ALL. YOUR HISTORY LESSON IS A GREAT STARTER FOR A BIG BROTHER TO SHARE WITH SOME ONE. A LESSON IN A SUBJECT AS" FAITH IN HISTORY " WOULD ALSO HELP. THIS WOULD SHOW HOW OUR GREAT COUNTRY WAS FORMED USING THE GREAT GUIDANCE BOOK CALLED THE " BIBLE ". ENOUGH SAID
