New License Plates Help Show Pride in America

New License Plates Help Show Pride in America

Harrisburg — Legislation passed earlier this year authorized PennDOT to produce new license plate designs, one of which serves as a testament to the American spirit.

The plate, authorized by Act 109 of 2014, is called the “In God We Trust” specialty plate and depicts the image of the symbol of America – the bald eagle – with the words “In God We Trust” beneath it. The fee for this plate is $20, plus registration fees if they are due. These plates may also be personalized for an additional $100.

“PennDOT is pleased to provide our customers with a variety of ways to express themselves through our registration plate programs,” said PennDOT Secretary Barry J. Schoch.

To order the “In God We Trust” specialty plate, or to learn more about a wide variety of license plates, visit our website at www.dmv.state.pa.us and click on Motor Vehicle Information then Specialty Plates under Registration Plate Information.

The plates normally take two to four weeks to deliver; for personalized plates, allow eight to 10 weeks for delivery.

Love the idea, but I think the State of PA is opening itself up for law suits based on religious discrimination. "In GOD We Trust" does not fit every ones religious preference.

Not every one will have the plates. Are you buying one ? Other folks can get a personal plate without this on it if they want. This is called freedom of religion if you want in God we trust on your plates. I am sure no one will go blind from seeing this plate. Enough Said

nothing says you're a true patriot like $20.00 and a license plate frame. Does it come with a complimentary lapel pin of the flag?

It is a plate, not a frame for one. I hope they are made by legal Americans locked up in prison and not illegals. lol
