Vehicle Fire In Walmart Parking Lot

At 1:32 PM on Friday, Derrick City Fire Department dispatched to Walmart Parking Lot for a vehicle fire.

Chief: Child starts fire in car at Walmart Friday

Passers-by rescued three children from a burning vehicle Friday afternoon at the Walmart Supercenter in Foster Township.


The unidentified mother was inside the store when the 10-year-old juvenile playing with a lighter caught papers on fire in the 2003 Ford Escape, according to Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jim Kelley. 


Witnesses rescued the three children, ages 10, 3 and 2 — two of whom were in car seats.

Thank god the children were ok.. What would a mother be thinking to leave 3 small children unattended in a car?

Yes, Thank God those little ones are safe & did not get hurt! God sure was watching over them for the negligent mother!
