Austin Assisted With Coudersport House Fire

Austin Volunteer Fire Department added 42 new photos.
Last evening at 1901 Coudersport Dept. 48 was dispatched for a Structure Fire reported house in the Coudersport Boro, Box 48-02. Coudersport Boro Police were first on scene reporting all occupants had evacuated, heavy fire on backside of residence. Chief 48 requested a Second Alarm, bringing full company responses to the scene from McKean 3 (Port Allegany), Station 10 (Galeton), Station 44 (Austin) and Station 46 (Roulette). 

At time of dispatch Chief 44-10 (J.Burgett), Chief 44-20 (N.Burgett), Chief 44-60 (T.Orlowski), Chief 44-70 (D.Bennett), and Capt. 44 (C.Ehrensberger) responded. Engine 44-2, Tanker 44-5, Ambulance 44-6 and Rescue 44-8 responded within minutes. Chief 44-20 (N.Burgett) requested a dispatch of Cameron County 14 with an Engine Company to cover our station.

Crews arrived on scene to find fireman performing an aggressive exterior attack of fire. Command requested Engine, Tanker and Rescue assist with manpower. Crews went to work assisting with exterior attack. Crews then assisted with the interior attack, fighting the fire from inside structure. Austin and Coudersport Ambulance Crews went to work providing rehab for fireman. At 20:28 command reported fire under control with heavy overhaul. Crews then went to work overhauling structure. Crews remained on scene until released by command. All responding units were back in quarters at 0110.
