Framk J. Mitchell, 84, of Galeton, PA

Framk J. Mitchell, 84, of Galeton, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. 

Born April 30, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Miklitsch) Mitchell. On June 18, 1955 in Galeton, he married the late Shirley Paul, who preceded him in death on February 22, 2014. 

Frank worked at Galeton Production for many years as a mechanic, owned and operated his own farm, and was an original co-owner of Mitchell’s Twin Valley Farms in Germania. 

Frank was a member of St. Bibiana’s Catholic Church in Galeton, a member of the Galeton Moose, a member of the Black Forest Snowmobile Club, and sat on the Board of Elections for West Branch Twp. 

He greatly enjoyed polka and feeding the wild birds. 

Surviving are; two sons Stephen (Vickie Hurst) Mitchell and Brian (Charlotte) Mitchell, both of Galeton; four grandchildren, Jason Mitchell, Alicia Mitchell, Aimee (Robert) Fisher and Brandy Mitchell; three great grandchildren, Breanna Fillmore, Chad Fisher and Macie Casher; a brother-in-law, Bravo Button; a sister-in-law, Erma Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife, Frank was predeceased by a brother, Albert Mitchell, and a sister, Helen Button. 

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Galeton, on Monday, December, 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm and at St. Bibiana’s Catholic Church, Galeton on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00am. The Rev. Joseph Dougherty will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
