Hopes high for reopening of Ski Denton — just not this season

Hopes are high for the reopening of Ski Denton in Potter County — just not this season.
On Thursday, state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Ellen Ferretti announced the state is preparing to bid out for a new ski operator and have a feasibility study conducted at Denton Hill State Park near Coudersport.



But state Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint, had hoped for a different turn of events. The lawmaker said he wanted Ski Denton to be open this season, and even Coudersport residents stepped up and said they’d operate it. 


“Given that we now have had several individuals and businesses express an interest in operating the facility, we are required to provide the opportunity for parties to bid on the contract,” Ferretti said. Read more...

Lots of details are lacking here. Who are the ones looking at it? I heard some pretty big names. You people are dreaming if you think a big corporation is going to come in and run this ski area. I hope somebody does but it's not realistic to think it would be some of these giant companies who have been mentioned. Just sayin'

There is no money here that's why it closed in the first place! Look around people the area is in shambles who in their right mind would run a business to lose money!
