Route 66 Re-opened 4 Hours After Tractor Trailer Crash

At 2:44 PM on Monday, Kane Fire Dept. & Ambulance were dispatched to James City Hill on Rt. 66 on the sharp curve for a tractor trailer rollover crash. 

Alexander K. Myers, 21, of Mount Jewett, PA, was driving the Peterbilt tractor-trailer southbound on Rt. 66 and attempted to negotiate a sharp left hand curve. Trooper Frederick Burns said Myers was traveling too fast and the rig overturned onto it's roof and impacted a guide rail on the west berm of the roadway.

Myers was transported to Kane Community Hospital by Kane Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt He will be charged with Driving At Unsafe Speeds in District Court 55-3-04.

Kane Fire & EMS, and Big Dog Towing assisted at the scene. Highland Fire Dept. assisted with traffic control. The road was closed for about 4 hours.
