Clinton County

Update for Route 220/Auction Road Project, Week of Dec. 8

Lock Haven – Phase Two of PennDOT’s Route 220/Auction Road project in Lamar Township got underway in October, with the goal to provide smoother, more efficient travel through the area and have increased sight distance. PennDOT issues the following update for the week of Dec. 8.

• On Monday, the contractor will be resetting temporary barrier and guide rails on Route 220. The roadway will be reduced to a single lane regulated with flaggers throughout the daylight hours.

• The contractor plans to continue installation of sewer line along Route 2008 (Fairground Road). Work may include reducing the roadway to a single lane with flaggers throughout the daylight hours. This could result in short travel delays.

• Drivers should remain alert for slow moving and stopped vehicles throughout the work zone.

Phase Two will feature the construction of the bridge and ramps on the western side of Route 220, adjacent to the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Overall work includes excavation, concrete piping, paving, sign structures, inlets, light poles, guide rail, and miscellaneous items. The contractor for the $12.4 million Phase Two project is HRI, Inc. of State College today. All work is weather and schedule dependent.

Construction of Phase One completed earlier this year. That work included the building of the ramps on the eastern side of Route 220, adjacent to the Auto Auction.
