Elizabeth J. ‘Betty’ Coryell,
 beloved mother, grandmother and aunt

SMETHPORT, Pa. — Elizabeth J. “Betty” Coryell, 92, passed away
Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2015) at the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, following a
lengthy illness.

Born Feb. 4, 1922, in Shirley, W.Va., she was a daughter of Edward Lee
and Golda Glee Knight Langfitt. On Dec. 13, 1947, in Philadelphia she
married Warren C. Coryell Sr., who passed away Sept. 18, 2008.

Betty was a 1940 graduate of Otto High School in Duke Center and later
graduated from the Franklin School of Science and Arts in 1947 in
Philadelphia as a medical technician.

Before attending college, Betty had worked at the Eldred Munitions Co.
in the laboratory.

For 32 years, she was employed by the Rosoff Laboratories and also the
Damen Clinical Lab, both in Philadelphia. During World War II, she
worked in the Westinghouse Marine Division in Philadelphia. After moving
to Smethport with her husband in 1994, she had served as a guide in the
Eldred World War II Museum.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Collingdale, where she
taught Sunday school and was on the church board and the Board of
Christian Life and taught Vacation Bible School. Betty was later a
member of the Nazarene Church in Bradford. She had served as a Cub Scout
den mother and as a tutor in a literacy group.

She loved being with her family, music and working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a son, Warren (Chasity) Coryell Jr. of Grand Blanc,
Mich.; two grandchildren; Jasmine Pearl and Warren Clifford III; several
nieces and nephews; and all her friends who were so good to her.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Charles and Norman
Langfitt; and two sisters, Genevieve Stone and Ruby Carter.

Friends may call for visitation at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred,
today (Friday, Jan. 23, 2015) from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will
be held on Saturday (Jan. 24, 2015) at 11 a.m. at the First Church of
God, Eldred, with the Rev. James Kazimer officiating. Burial will follow
in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
