Free Penn State Home Water and Septic System Workshops Offered

Local Penn State Extension Water Resources Educator, Jim Clark, is offering free Home Water and Septic System Workshops in Cameron and Elk Counties this February 2015. 

In Elk County the workshop is being held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, at the St Marys Educational Council Building at 4 Erie Avenue on the ground floor in room G2. 

In Cameron County, the workshop will be held on Thursday, February 26, at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library in Emporium, PA. 

The workshops are free to participants, but pre-registration is required by calling 814-887-5613, emailing to Jac20@psu.edu, or going on line to www.extension.psu.edu/natural-resources/water/events 

Parking is available behind the St Marys Educational Council Building or the Emporium Library.

Clark will instruct the class and will cover private water supplies and how they should be maintained, tested, and treated. Best management practices for homeowners to use to protect and maintain their on-lot septic system will also be discussed. Penn State Extension educational resources will be shared and questions answered. 

Jim Clark is a Penn State Extension Water Resources Educator based in McKean County, Pennsylvania, since July 1, of 1989. He is Co-Chair of the statewide Penn State Extension Water Resources Team. He delivers educational programs related to the water resources of Pennsylvania and assists private water supply owners in assuring safe drinking water.
