Oswayo Valley Student Group Sets Sights For A Tour Of New York

OV Student Group sets sights for a tour of New York City to include China Town , the Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Natural History along with taking in the Broadway show " the Lion King" and dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The Arts & Humanities Club is holding their last fund raiser a "SOUP'S ON" event on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 beginning at 4:30 pm till 6:00pm in the MSHS cafeteria. Cost $5.00 per person children 5 and under free.

This past fall the Arts & Humanities Club was founded and over thirty students belong from grades 6-12. This club addresses a creative outlet for the student body to broaden their horizons with cultural experiences outside of their local rural setting.

In interviewing students from the group they had a variety of reasons for joining the club, Kayla Keech said, "art makes us better people and it allows for extra time to work on art projects." Others like Sara McGee and Virginia Olds felt that, "We can expand our art knowledge, trips really help with this and it was a fun thing to do with my friends. Ciarra Mix was very excited about going to NYC, she shared, " sounds like a great time something to experience with my friends. it will give us exposure to what is out there and an opportunity we would not get any other way."

Come out and support the kids on Tuesday evening for 4-6 and PACK the Cafeteria with "SOUP'S ON" and help the kids go to New York City in April.

What a great picture of this amazing group of kids from OVHS. It is such a clearer pic than the one that showed up in the Leader. Who takes those pics anyway? Should be checked before going out in the paper. Congrats to all the students. Nice to see a group like this has been formed at OV>
