Robert A. “Bob” Strauss, 82, of Angola, NY

Robert A. “Bob” Strauss, 82, of Angola, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.

He was born on October 12, 1932 in Buffalo, a son of the late Otto and Florence Cook Strauss.

He was a member of his local VFW and American Legion and the Ironworker’s union. When he was younger he enjoyed riding horses. He was known to give to many charities. He loved to listen to music especially country western and polka.
Korean War Veteran

He was employed by Senwell Industries, Buffalo, as a welder until his retirement in 1987.

He was a U.S. Army veteran that was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

He is survived by three sons, Mark (Shelley) Strauss of North Carolina, Merrill (Laurie) Strauss of Salamanca, NY, Mike (Kristen) Strauss of Bradford, PA; one daughter, Mari Hatfield of Salamanca, NY; one sister, Arlene Theurer of Williamsville, NY; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Strauss and John Strauss and one great granddaughter, Aspen Reiller.

At his request there will be no visitation. A private celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
