Public Meeting Wednesday On Drinking Water Protection

Potter County Today

Feb7TripledividelogoSeveral projects geared toward protecting public drinking water sources in Potter County will be aired during the next meeting Triple Divide Watershed Coalition (TDWC), scheduled for 9 am on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Gunzburger Building auditorium in Coudersport.

The meeting is open to the public. Those attending are asked to use the Water Street entrance.

All public water system operators in Potter County have signed on to form the TDWC and partner with the Pa. Dept. of Environmental Protection, county agencies and their counterparts elsewhere in Pennsylvania.

The Feb. 11 meeting will include updates on an effort to acquire 24/7 monitoring equipment for all public water sources and a plan to create detailed maps of local watersheds.

Other agenda items include updates on each system’s source water protection plan and an emergency notification system.
