Annin Township supervisor , we have a towing bill.

March 13--After three attempts over the past few days from 3 different neighbors to get this ice hole fixed on Dolly Brook Road in Port Allegany something has finally happened because its still not fixed.

We slowed down to go over this terrible hole and we got stuck in it and could not get out.

The only thing the township has done is put some sand on it and put 2 caution blockings up. Its very dangerous and could be hazardous.

Thankfully for Mckeirnan towing who came and pulled us out because the front of the car was right on the ground.

Thankful to all our neighbors who let us park in their driveway tonight and our other one who took us home because we or nobody else with a small car is able to get up the road.

Tomorrow morning when I walk down to pick up my car I hope I will be able to drive it home if the hole has been fixed. We notified ambulance and fire dept to let them know of the situation. Hopefully nobody will need them tonight.

We realize its been a hard winter with snow and ice and township has probably been extra busy but please will you take care of this.

Just want to thank you to Annin township for fixing Dolly Brook Rd. Unfortunately not everybody had a big truck to get through to their homes. There was no way to go around this hole even though we went slowly the ice gave way and it happened. Its a temporary fix for now and we and all the other residents on our road appreciate it. Thank you

Kay Russell

Sounds like a totally over-blown article. First of all two parking caution blocks would give a responsible person notice to be ware. I don't think a pothole would keep ALL the cars from traversing this road. And by the pictures, it only looks bad IF you drive into it with a car.
So much drama... learn how to drive.

Looks like someone got their poor Mercedes stuck in a whole ....

So because they didn't do anything about it, you purposely drove into it to draw attention? That's exactly what it sounds like.

You knew it was there and drove into it anyway????

To start off with this was not a ploy to get anything fixed. The water running under the thick ice carved out a tunnel and these people were the unfortunate ones to drive over it. It could have happened to anyone. The ice ditch was to deep even for a pickup truck. And for the people up Dolly Brook it's the only way in or out for them.

It really would have been cute if there would have been a medical emergency or fire up this road.

Pretty sure that's a Jeep Compass, not a Mercedes. It's definitely not a Mercedes.

Considering I know these people!.. The whole road is ice and it seems that when they hit the ice they slid into the hole. They were going very slow and already aware of it. The road is a dirt road and and already not a good road.

Please also consider that this person says thank you to the township. It isn't a post made for bitching. It was to make people aware of the situation.

IF there had been a medical emergency, Im sure the responders have had enough training and common sense not to drive into a hole in the road.

Guess you haven't been to Austin lately. Roads there haven't been fixed in years.

It's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand
