Cole Memorial has named Timothy Brown, MHA, as executive director of professional services, effective March 2.

He comes to Cole Memorial from Upper Allegheny Health System, parent company of Bradford Regional Medical Center in Bradford, Pennsylvania and Olean General Hospital in Olean, New York, with experience as an administrator of clinical ancillary services. Prior to working in Bradford several years, Tim held the director of imaging services post at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York for five years after serving as the manager of imaging services at Buffalo General Hospital from 1996 to 2001.

“Cole Memorial has a long history of having great leadership in key positions,” said Ed Pitchford, Cole Memorial’s President and CEO. “We are pleased that Tim Brown will be joining our leadership team and contributing to our successes. We welcome Tim and his wife Sue to our family here at Cole and I’m sure the broader community will come to appreciate the talents that he brings with him.”

Tim will initially be responsible for all outpatient medical practices at Cole Memorial and the Patterson Cancer Center in affiliation with UPMC CancerCenters in Pittsburgh.

He earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration at D’Youville College in Buffalo and is a candidate for a 2015 master’s in business administration degree from St. Bonaventure University, Allegany, New York. Tim also holds a B.S. degree in business from Houghton College and an A.A.S. in Radiography Technology from Trocaire College in Buffalo.

In addition to being certified in Lean Process Improvements, Tim is a member of several professional organizations, such as the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA), American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a few community boards in the McKean County area.

“I am very pleased to be a part of such an exceptional organization,” said Tim Brown, new executive director of professional services at Cole Memorial. “I have been very impressed with the dedication from the staff and administration to the organization and the community. I look forward to assimilating myself into this health system and being an intricate part of the Cole Memorial team.”

And another positive development is that finally one of the intrenched six-figure protected few in the top levels of the administration has been cleared from the deck, as has the husband who came along in a 2-for-1 deal at two more fat salaries has moved on. Finally the sacred cows are moving on to pasture. No offense to anyone personally but anyone who has worked at Cole knows who they are and how well they have been taken care of for many many many years. Best wishes to Mr. Brown.
