Free Penn State Home Water and Septic System Workshops Offered

Local Penn State Extension Water Resources Educator, Jim Clark, is offering free Home Water and Septic System Workshops in Jefferson County this March 2015.

The free workshops are both being held from 6 to 8 p.m.

The first workshop is set for Monday, March 23, at the Punxsutawney Borough Civic Center Council Chambers at 301 East Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney.

The same workshop is also being offered in Brookville on Thursday, March 26, at the Jefferson County Conservation District Office at 1514 Route 28.

The workshops are free to participants, but pre-registration is required by calling 814-887-5613, emailing to jac20@psu.edu, or going on line to www.extension.psu.edu/natural-resources/water/events

Clark will instruct the class and will cover private water supplies and how they should be maintained, tested, and treated. Best management practices for homeowners to use to protect and maintain their on-lot septic system will also be discussed. Penn State Extension educational resources will be shared and questions answered.
