It says in the Endeavor this week that the study cost $50,000!?!? Is that a typo error and should it read $5,000? Where did the money come from?

That number has been reported before at 50 thousand. The Redevelopment Authority paid part of it. Maybe the borough paid the other part?

What study?? Fill me in--I'm VERY behind in local news but I am going to go to that meeting and I want to be informed. The Redevelopment Authority conducted a $50,000 study in order to figure out what was needed to revitalize Potter County? If so, that's ludicrous--they should have been asking all of the mothers buying groceries with ACCESS cards AND the workers themselves--who have two and three jobs in order to attempt to support their families in this county. THOSE are the people who will tell you what needs to happen in order to change our lives for the good. And they'll do it for free!

$50,000.00 could have filled in all the potholes in Main Street and East Second Street.

The CROOKS can toot their own horns all they want. But when you have people working 2 or 3 jobs as mentioned above and the CROOKS claim hundreds of thousands put to work, something isn't right.

I would not consider a part time job as a countable job. Also when you claim, let's say, 30,000 new jobs (part time) and 10,000 workers come in and grab 3 each just to make ends meet, I'd consider that just 10,000 new jobs.

The borough of Coudersport contributed Zero dollars and zero cents. All federal state and county money.

If you are concerned with wasted funds you should be informed that to inspect and modify the "channel" to comply with president GW's hurricane Katrina f-up and comply with regulations thereafter the Borough of Coudersport spent $800,000 mostly in grant money. Without this updating of the channel the federal government would have designated the borough of Coudersport to be in a flood zone making everyone pay flood insurance. By the way the channel has never flooded.
$50,000 is what it takes to get a study completed that complies with government concerns to get additional federal/ state grant funding.
Case in point It will take $30,000 just to study and engineer the Tom Leete nature trail.
This is the cost of getting things completed in today's government regulated world. No matter if your a Democrate or Republican.

It still all boils down to the fact that as a legal taxpayer I still paid for the study. No grant or special funding is ever free.
