Vehicle Crash With Entrapment On Rt. 219 South of Tacks Inn

At 12:563 PM on Saturday, Lafayette Fire Rescue & Bradford Ambulance dispatched to 6651 Rt. 219 , about 1 mile south of Tacks Inn for a vehicle accident with one person entrapped.
REPORT 1 CRITICAL PATIENT. 2 HELICOPTERS ON STANDBY. 
1:18 PM--STAND DOWN HELICOPTERS.

I hope everyone is OK. But it appears as though those special/high-tech guard rails ( guide rails), Don't function as designed. They are supposed to roll away like a ribbon, not crinkle-up or turn your vehicle into a kabob on a stick.
Another penndot fantasy.

They work when they are hit on the impact plungers which it appears this one was hit beyond that

Seen plenty of pictures where they have been hit straight on and stuck completely through the vehicle from front to back or side thru side,. I heard they were rejected one day before they would have been approved for use. Not sure if it was PA or not.
Its like placing a spear along the road to protect people.

Not to be snide or disrespectful Patty but, I can't think of a single accident ever reported where someone was able to choose where impact occurred.
