Water Protection Project Funded in Potter County

26 County Conservation Districts Received Funding to Promote Water Pollution Prevention Strategies across Pennsylvania

Coudersport, PA — Potter County Conservation District received $2,000.00 to hold two erosion and sediment control workshops; one for municipal officials and one for individuals associated with timber harvesting activities.

“With this grant money, the district will have the opportunity to educate local residents on how they can make a difference in their own community,” said Glenn Dunn II, PCCD Resource Conservationist. “We look forward to getting started on this project that will help to ensure clean water for future generations.”

Education and outreach about the municipal workshop is expected to begin in April of 2015. The District will hold the event on June 10, 2015. Education and outreach about the timber harvesting workshop is expected to begin in December of 2016. The District expects to hold the event in April of 2016.

Thirty projects will be funded in 26 of the state’s counties. Projects include agricultural field days, rain barrel workshops, stormwater tours and more. For a complete listing of awarded projects, visit http://goo.gl/xw3RBm.

For more information about the planned workshops, contact Glenn Dunn II at (814)274-8411 Ext. #4.

common sense says,
Open your eyes people, Millions of gallons of fresh water are contaminated every day in the fracking industry. We lose our fresh water supply by fracking just to ship the gas and oil over seas for the almighty dollar.
Let me ask you, have your gas bills gone down?
