I-80 Resurfacing in Union County Continues Next Week

Montoursville – This is the latest update on the 3.5-mile resurfacing project on Interstate 80 in Union County. The work zone is from Gray Hill Road overpass in White Deer Township to about 1 mile west of the Interstate 180 Interchange.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 8, the contractor will begin to mill and pave the eastbound passing lane from the Gray Hill Road overpass to the bridge spanning Old Route 15. From Old Route 15 east to the end of the work zone, both the driving and passing lanes will be closed and traffic will use the auxiliary lane for travel.

On Monday night, the contractor will shut down the westbound driving lane to perform epoxy overlays on the bridges in the construction area. This work is weather permitting.

On Wednesday, weather permitting, the contractor will perform an epoxy overlay on a small bridge in the eastbound lanes of the construction area. Lane closures will be implemented as needed during this portion of the project.

All work is expected to be completed by Thursday.

Motorists are asked to be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
