PINE GROVE — Calvin Frank Morgan, 75, of Frantz Road, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July, 28, 2015.

He was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Ravine, a son of the late Nathan and Elsie (Scheib) Morgan. On Aug. 11, 1962, he married the former Michele C. Morgan who survives.

Calvin was a member of the first graduating class of Pine Grove Area High School in 1957 and attended East Stroudsburg University, graduating in 1961.

He was a teacher and served other administrative positions in the Pine Grove Area School District before moving to Potter County in 1985 to become the Northern Potter School District’s Junior-Senior high school principal. He retired as principal of Northern Potter in 1991. After retirement he became a pastor in the United Methodist Church accepting a three point charge in the Middleburg area beginning in 1994. He retired as pastor of the United Methodist Church in Paxtonville in 2007.

He was a member of the Pine Grove Community Church and the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge, #409 F. & A.M.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Debbie (Erway) Morgan, of Ulysses, David and Lynn (Troup) Morgan, of Northumberland, and Scott and Christina (Rausch) Morgan, of Ulysses: two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and David Maclachlan, of Blooomsburg and Linda and Roger Abercrombie, of Pine Grove; 12 grandchildren, Kathryn, Andrew, Kyle, Alexandria, Aaron, Mariah, Matthew, Joshua, Sarah, Rebecca, Kaylee and Grace; one brother, Lemoyne Morgan and one sister, Vicki Horning, both of Pine Grove.

Calvin was preceded in death by one sister, Joann Morgan.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Community Church, 83 Pleasant Valley Road, Pine Grove, followed by a celebration of life at 10:30, with Pastor Bob Kensinger officiating.

Interment will be in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions in Calvin’s memory be made to This Little Light Ministries, c/o Pine Grove Community Church, 83 Pleasant Valley Rd., Pine Grove, PA 17963.

The H. L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove is in charge of arrangements.
