Update for Route 220/Auction Road Project, Week of August 31 Traffic Stops on Fairground Road Possible next Week

Lock Haven, PA – Phase Two of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Route 220/Auction Road project in Lamar Township is moving closer to completion, with the goal to provide smoother, more efficient travel through the area and provide increased sight distance. PennDOT issues the following project update for the week of August 17.

• The contractor will continue construction of the single span bridge for Route 220 that will span Route 2008 (Fairground Road). The contractor plans to pour the bridge deck between Wednesday and Friday of next week. The work is anticipated to take place between 3:00AM and noon each day. Traffic may be reduced to a single lane controlled by flaggers during the deck pour.

• The contractor will continue to grade roadway, place subbase, and install pavement drain throughout the week.

• The contractor will be installing highway lighting equipment throughout the week.

• A 14-foot width restriction on Route 220 northbound and southbound remains in effect until late 2015.

• Motorists are advised to watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the entire work zone and reminded to use caution when traveling through work zones, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.

• All work is weather dependent.

Phase Two features the construction of the bridge and ramps on the western side of Route 220, adjacent to the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Overall work includes excavation, concrete piping, paving, sign structures, inlets, light poles, guide rail, and miscellaneous items. The contractor for the $12.4 million Phase Two project is HRI, Inc. of State College.
