Want to start beekeeping but don't know where to begin?

Join the North Central PA Beekeepers and Penn State Extension at our First of three Beginners Beekeeping classes on Saturday, October 17th from 10 - 2.

The class is designed to cover just the basics for the person who is interested in honey bees. We will be covering bee biology, beekeeping equipment and how and when to order your bees.

The cost is $35 to cover three classes: October 17, March 12 - how to hive your bees and first year management, March 26 -What you need to know about bee maladies and a field trip in April to an apiary. The cost also covers the book, a one year membership with the club and all the handouts. There is a discounted rate for the 2nd family member. Advance registration with a check is required by October 2. Checks are to be made payable to "North Central PA Beekeepers Assoc." and mailed to Joan Bradley, PO Box 635, Shinglehouse, PA 16748. Class size is limited to 20 people, so please register soon to reserve a space.

Classes will be held at the Penn State Extension building located at 7 Water St, Coudersport. Please bring your own lunch. Bottled water provided.

North Central PA Beekeepers Assoc. is a not for profit organization. Our goal is to be able to educate the public about the importance of Honey Bees. We meet once a month from February through October. Our next meeting will be on Sept. 8th at 7 PM at the Penn State Extension in Coudersport. Please feel free to attend.
