Why is a 12 yr old girl taking a knife to school ? A knife is considered a weapon. Just wondering why the hand cuffs n the lighter, times have really changed, schools have a job to do protecting other children, if the girl stabbed another child (just saying) there would be a law suit against the school, remember times have changed, some lawyers encourage people to sue, their child was hurt on school property when the school was to be protecting their child

A knife is also many other things such as a tool to cooking, carving, or chopping. I mean hell a pen "is" a weapon too then....and a fork... the issue here is that she brought several questionable items to school. The school rightly realized that this girl needs some type of intervention and used existing laws to facilitate this and get the ball rolling for her to get the attention and help she obviously needs. poor thing.... such a hard age.

Lots of things can be weapons. If kids have lockers with locks on them a 'lock in a sock' could be a weapon. What about the knives in the cafeteria and forks. How about a backpack full of books up side the head?
A chalk board eraser is definitely a weapon, saw a kid get hit right between the eyes by one that was thrown at him by a teacher, gave him a bloody nose and knocked him right out of his chair. That red blood mixed with all that blueish green chalk all over his face is something Ill never forget. Then he got detention. Nuff sed.

Welcome to Cameron county, where certain teachers make fun of kids with sick parents, dead parents, or absent parents. Hell they still have a teacher there that has been caught looking up little girls dresses, has been doing so for over 20 years. Bringing a pocket knife to school wasn't a smart idea, but who's to say any students were in real danger? This school has tried passing students on to parents who weren't allowed any contact, to smashing boxes kindergartens wrapped for a concert (because they weren't good enough), to telling a student with a black eye that he lied when he said his step dad punched him. You know minor offenses, compared to the real issues like they're always broke and can't figure out why they're losing 10+ students a year.

Oh my goodness, all this is just unbelievable that this happens in schools, everyone has the right to voice their opinion, if the little girl was in fear, then they better get to the root of the problem and has any of yhis been addressed to ur school board ?
