I'm just curious. "Engine 37-1 hit the hydrant at the Methodist church."
Did it really actually "hit" the hydrant or just connect to it?

Praying for all the volunteers fire fighters.

when in town hooked to a hydrent with 5"line why did chief 37 shut it down and use tankers and keep running out of water when the fire hydrents are there????? Makes no sence to me but nither does most of the things that happen around here.

I was wondering the same thing

The hydrant that 37-1 initially hooked to ended up being a dead that's why they went to tankers and a fold-a-tank. Apparently school didn't make "no sence" to you either.

Knowing the water department in town they probably told them they weren't allowed to use any more water from the hydrant system. They do that all the time there. That hydrant by the church is actually one of the best in town. The other thing is the fire police probably started having a fit about having the road closed. Nothing new about that either.....

You don't seem very smart "neither'". You should be thankful for all of the volunteers that help people in these dangerous situations. Offending there choices due to dead hydrant was pretty stupid. Know what you are talking about and learn how to spell.

whats more important shuting down rt49 and detouring trafic (detours happens all the time in emergencys.49 was shut down all day a couple weeks ago) or running out of water. if hydrant was bad there are more in town they could have hooked up to or are they all bad. if thats the case the town should let the residents know the hydrants are for looks only and not there safty in a emergancy. And yes i am thankful for all our volunters.

I'm sorry but someone lost their home and all you people can think about is what hydrant the fire department used or didn't use . Come on people really.

If you think you all know everything about firefighting and could run a scene better every department is always looking for volunteers every day all year around..

I realize that 8:51 and am sorry for there loss but i think the point that is trying to be made is if they hadn't kept running out of water from the tankers and could have been useing hydrants to that maybe by some chance they could have put fire out and saved some things for the owners instead of on and off again water and watching it burn for over 6 hours and them haveing nothing left but a mess.

Well 1209 are you a volunteer? I didn't think so! But you could always sign up! If you can fight fire as well as you can your mouth I guess we will never have a problem again then! These firemen are volunteers. They are out there risking their lives to help the people of this community. Sure they could have more training but then someone would run their mouths about the taxes going up. I'm sure they did their best and I personally thank each and every one of them.

Well 1:31 as a matter of fact I was for little over 10 years and i got out of it because it was getting to be more politics than about helping the people and comunity and its getting worse all the time!!!
