Wellsboro Youth Recieves Scholarship At Keystone International Livestock Exposition

Tioga County Youth Receives Livestock Scholarship 

Harrisburg – Seven livestock youth received $7,000 in scholarships rewarding their leadership development, showring success, scholastic merits, an interest in the livestock industry as a career path and participation in the Keystone International Livestock Exposition during the 59th show’s opening ceremonies Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

The scholarships were given to 4-H, FFA and collegiate youth by the Pennsylvania Livestock Association (PLA). Recipients are 4-Hers Catherine Foulke and Jesse Isenberg, FFA members Caitlin Cullum and Timothy Kaltenbach, and collegiate winners Eric Shoop, Garrett Livingston and Lynn Finkenbinder.

Timothy is the son of Timothy and Chasity Kaltenbach, of Wellsboro, Tioga County. He is a graduate of Wellsboro Area High School where he was a member of the Grand Canyon FFA Chapter. Timothy is currently attending Harrisburg Area Community College for Auctioneering. In his spare time, he owns 12 head of beef cattle and works full time at Owletts Farm Store.

The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast with more than 1,300 beef cattle, 150 goats, 650 horses, 1,200 sheep and 700 swine exhibited by producers from 25 states and Canada.
