Woman Accused of False Reporting Armed Robbery

By Frank Williams
WESB News

A woman, who was employed at the Save-A-Lot in Kane, is accused of stealing money from the grocery store after she called police and reported an armed robbery.

Police say that 30 year-old Michelle Lesnick, while working as a cashier at the store, told them a man with a gun demanded that she give him all the big bills in her drawer.

Later a witness, who was with Lesnick, told police that she had more money she should and may have been involved in taking money from the grocery store.

Lesnick is charged with receiving stolen property and making a false statement. She is in the McKean County jail on $5,000 bail.

Things like this would never happen if the minimum wage was reasonable, say $15 to $20 Hr. How could this poor girl be expected to survive on $8/Hr. (guessing). That's $320/Wk. before taxes. Hell, that's not even enough to buy a decent phone that she could keep looking at when she should be working.
Would you really expect her to maybe put herself thru college, working two or three jobs (like a lot of us did) just so she could get a better job that would meet her expectations financially so she could live like she wants to? Hell NO!!
If you don't come from a rich family, or inherit the family business, or be content with government assistance, you don't stand a chance. (unless you are willing to work)
Socialism is the only way to support all these people so we can live in a better society. Socialism is good if you want to work and give 90% of what you make to the government to support others. Hey, lets face it! THEY deserve it! They're people too.
So anyway, how can you blame her, she deserves it (the money). She's entitled to it just like government entitlements. What would you expect her to do?? Unlike the rest of the responsible, hardworking employees in that store.
That's a successful business full of hard working people making a living, and that's EVIL.
And by the way, if minimum wage was $15/Hr,, THAT STORE WOULDNT BE THERE!! and NO ONE would have a job.

Ok so raise the minimum wage for a job where you need absolutely no skills to double what it is now. Do you think the companies are going to eat the loss? No way, they are going to pass it off to the consumers like myself. I am not sure if you are on food stamps but I am not so I am concerned with raising prices. It is minimum wage for a reason, because a monkey can do the job and hopefully cashiers will be eliminated so we all can save some cash. Don't like a low paying job? How about bettering yourself with school or vocational training. Quit coddling the underachievers.

Oh shes probably just a poor drug addict or alcoholic... Someone who has MADE THE DECISION to not care about how her actions affect others. Basically another piece of crap in our society that doesn't deserve anyones sympathy....make a example of this criminal...throw the book at her.

Sorry....but minimum wage does not to be 15 to 20 per hour for cashiers and fast food workers....jobs are payed based on skill....I work the gas industry and my job is 10 times more dangerous than a cashier that pushes a few buttons here and there or someone who flips burgers...I'm not saying I'm better than these people ....but my job requires me to work anywhere from 60 to 100 hrs per week and months away from family....I have to worry abo it ditches falling in on me....pipe falling unexpectedly...and god help us all...an explosion...I make anywhere from 15 to 25 per hr depending on the company....so I do think these cashiers and fast food workers need to be making as much as I do? No. I do think that minimum wage needs to come up....but if you steal from your employer you need to be along the road somewhere picking up trash. If minimum wage jumps to 15 or more an hour you have to be prepared that people are going to be getting laid off because there isn't enough money to pay everyone....prices are going to rise in order to keep the company in business...and where does that put the consumer? Starving....think of our elderly who are barely making it now on their SS payments because congress feels that they don't need a raise in their monthly check....but yet you watch congress sit back and give themselves big fat raises every year....the fault is in our government ....that being said....yes I'm sorry I don't feel that a grocery store clerk should be making the same if not more than someone who works the gas industry....or the oil rigs...or other jobs that require more than standing behind a counter
