SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---James E. Fetzer II, 61, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Born on September 11, 1954 in Olean, NY, he was a son of James E. and Donna J. Taylor Fetzer.

Vietnam War Veteran
Jim received his GED while serving his country from 1972 to 1973 in the U.S. Marine Corps. His service included a tour in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.

He was formerly employed as a welder by West Brothers in Millport and as a welder at Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, NY. He was then employed by Classic Interior Completions in Willoughby, Ohio and lastly was employed as a truck driver. 

In his younger years, he was a member of the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department. 

Jim loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking for his family. He was a very creative person, being a gifted woodworker, having made many items for his family. 

His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.

Surviving besides his mother of Shinglehouse are three children, Autumn R. (Joshua) Brewster of Manistique, Michigan, James E. Fetzer III of Rochester, NY, and Elizabeth D. (Timothy) Ford of Arvada, Colorado; two beloved grandchildren, Isaac J. Brewster and Hannah C. Brewster; a brother, John R. (Debra) Fetzer of Shinglehouse; three sisters, Jeanne L. (Charles) Glogouski of Rome, Ohio and Marco Island, Florida, Julie A. (Adam) Stannard and Jennifer L. (Mark) Meacham, both of Shinglehouse; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, who Jim truly loved.

Jim was predeceased by his father.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.

Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord full military honors on Saturday.
