BELLEFONTE - June L. Becker, 86, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday (Dec. 27, 2015) at Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township. 

Born on June 3, 1929, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Walter P. and Martha J. Carter. On May 31, 1953 she was married to Charles W. Becker, who preceded her in death May 19, 1997. 

June was retired from Pierce Glass in Port Allegany, where she was a laborer. 

She is a graduate of Langhorn High School. 

She was a member of Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church. 

Some of her hobbies were traveling, sewing, crocheting, art, writing and always being there to support anyone in the community that needed help, a smile or a good laugh. She enjoyed volunteering at church and in the community and especially spending time with her family.

Surviving are one daughter, Sandra L. (Alex) Day of Bellefonte and two sons, Charles W. (Rose) Becker Jr. of Roulette and David P. Becker of Martinsburg, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Michael D. Taubert, Sherry R. Gismondi, Nicole F. Perkinson, Tiffani J. Becker, Melinda M. Roach and Camron Becker; and six great-grandchildren; her niece, Janice (Jack) Jakobik and family.

Along with her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by her brother, Walter P. Carter Jr.; sister-in-law, Winnie Carter; nephew, James Carter, and nephew Walter P. Carter III.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church in Sweden Valley on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11am. A luncheon and gathering will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church in Coudersport, Pa. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte.
