Michael E. Nuhfer, Sr., 69, of Warren, PA, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Warren Manor Nursing Home, after an extended illness. 

He was born March 20, 1946 in Warren, PA. He was the son of William and Katherine Mansfield Nuhfer, Sr., Mike was a lifelong Warren area resident. 

He was employed with the former Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Company as a Blacksmith and also with Chicago Bridge and Iron Company.

He was a member of Warren Salvation Army, an avid bocce player with the Warren Senior Center. He had an exceptional love for his children, family and his dogs.

 He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Beatrice Hyde Nuhfer whom he married April 4, 1992 in Warren, PA., 4 Children – Michael E. Nuhfer, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Norman, OK., Jennifer Nuhfer Whiteman and Amy Nuhfer DeGolier, both of Bradford, PA., Douglas Nuhfer of Pittsburgh, PA., 4 Brothers – Phillip Nuhfer and wife, Marian, of Warren, PA., Thomas Nuhfer and wife, Sandra, of Tiona, PA., Lawrence Nuhfer of Irvine, PA., William J. Nuhfer, Jr. and wife, Doris, of Warren, PA, 1 Sister – Martha Laufferty of Lakewood, CA., 11 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson, several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother – Richard Nuhfer, Sr., 2 Sisters – Theresa Sanden and Delores Anthony. 

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA, on Sunday, December 27, 2015, from 2 to 4PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Warren State Hospital Interfaith Chapel at 11:00 AM Monday with Major Thomas Aplan, officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to help defray costs of funeral expenses may send funds to the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc.
