PA CleanWays Cooperates on Illegal Dump Clean Up

PA CleanWays of McKean County, an affiliate of Keep PA Beautiful, has agreed to pay the tipping fees for the illegal dump clean-up completed by the US Forest Service on JoJo Road in Kane, PA, on November 25, 2015. This dump was located on the Allegheny National Forest. PA CleanWays of McKean Secretary, Jim Clark, stated this was an easy decision for CleanWays to help out with this effort, since it is our mission to fight illegal dumping in McKean County. In fact, PA CleanWays of McKean has cleaned up illegal dumps on JoJo Road in the past.

CleanWays tries to complete two illegal dump clean-ups each year. In 2015, CleanWays cleaned up an illegal dump in Annin Township, removed 2,004 tires at a tire recycling event, 3 truckloads of electronics at an electronic recycling event, helped sponsor an Allegheny River clean-up event, and sponsored a DEA Drug Take Back Program with the McKean County Sheriff’s Office, removing 11 boxes of drugs.

The Allegheny National Forest is offering a reward of up to $500 for credible information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever did the illegal dumping on the ANF. If anyone has information about this criminal act, please contact the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement at: 814.927.5797 or 814.927.5757. All information will remain confidential.

That whole road and area is a dump. Better have more money and plan on a lot more work.

Even if the road is just a swamp and I don't know why you would want to live there. that's no excuse for people to dump their trash there. Historically, its been a dumping ground. maybe time to put up some cameras.

They'll dump again after its cleaned up, we have it continuously, I would love to catch the ignorant pigs!
They've dumped microwaves, commodes, sinks, tires, etc on our property, they throw out garbage every day, they have no respect for themselves n live like pigs themselves! It's just disgusting n a losing battle, we clean it up, pay to have it hauled away n they dump again, it'll never stop !!!!

Put a Roll-Off trash bin in that area with a sign that says "Dump here".
