Renovo man admits killing the wife he reported missing

By John Beauge | Special to PennLive

LOCK HAVEN — William J. Snyder, 35, pleaded guilty in Clinton County Court to third-degree murder, abuse of corpse, tampering with evidence and making false statements to law enforcement. He faces a possible maximum prison term of up to 40 years.

He remained in the county jail without bail to await sentencing.

Snyder admitted killing his wife Kelley Jo, 34, the mother of three, during a fight in their Renovo home on April 5 and disposing of her body adjacent to Halls Run.

Kelley Jo Snyder's apparent disappearance sparked an extensive search in and around Renovo that included her husband making a televised plea for her safe return.

He claimed she took only a small wallet, bank card and money to walk a few blocks to a store to get sweet potatoes for Easter dinner. Store surveillance did not show her being in the store.
