Richard T. Steinhauser, 78, of 849 South Ave., Bradford, PA, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015, at The Pavilion at BRMC surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 22, 1937, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Leo and Marion A. (Steck) Steinhauser. He attended Bradford Area Schools.

US Marines
On March 22, 1956, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. serving as a Tank Crewman and Tractor Operator. He was honorably discharged from active duty on March 22, 1959.

On March 15, 1960, in DeGolia EUB Church, he married Lynda A. (Fowler) Steinhauser who survives him.

Dick was employed at the Susquehanna Chemical Works and later as a Supervisor in the Boiler House at Kendall-Witco Corporation, retiring after 32 years at the refinery.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, hunting, fishing, golfing and was a former member of the Birch Run Country Club. He was an antique car and hot rod truck enthusiast, and was particularly good at rebuilding engines.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Lynda of 55 years, is one granddaughter, Hallie Steinhauser, three great-grandchildren, Bella Parsons, Lilly Nazario and Miles Nazario, one sister, Sally, one brother, Daryl and his wife Lee, and several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Daryl Steinhauser, who died in June of 1983, and Thomas L. Steinhauser, who died in February of 2015, and one brother Dale.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, December 7, 2015, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., Bradford, at 1:00pm funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, retired Presbyterian minister officiating. Following the service members of the United States Marines will conduct Military Honors at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
