Snow or No Snow, 2nd Annual Snow Fest Is A Go At CARP This Saturday In Coudersport

Andy KulpThe question has been asked and it doesn't matter...regardless of whether we have snow or not the Snow Fest will go on...Mayor Brenda Whitman has so much stuff planned for this year that regardless of whether there is snow or not there will be lots to do....

come on down to Carp Park on Saturday, Febuary 13th from noon to 3 pm and enjoy the day...

the Backpack program will be there selling Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Sausage sandwiches and lots of other goodies at a price you can afford.

The party will continue at the Coudersport American Legion after the Snow Fest is done so plan on spending the day in Coudersport...please share this post to all your friends!!!

I dont think the snow should matter, as much as the temp. The high for Saturday is 1 degree. It's not safe to have children outside from 12-3 when its so cold!

Good plan... according to the NWS...
WIND CHILLS... 20 TO 30 DEGREES BELOW ZERO POSSIBLE.
* TIMING... SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.
* IMPACTS... POTENTIAL FROSTBITE TO EXPOSED SKIN IN 15 TO 30 MINUTES.

I would think someone would realize that the weather predicted is very dangerous and it's putting attendees and workers in danger all in the name of having this 'festival' because the mayor 'has so much planned'. wow!

Well they could just go to the Legion that way they can definetly do there drinking!! Why not have it somewhere that you can't drink?

Maybe some people like to have a drink and be social, remember its not against the law to drink , even for a mayor.

its going to be far too cold to be outside i would hope the mayor considers the safety of our youth and changes the date for this i understand alot of planning has gone into this event please be realistic when it comes to the weather in Potter county its very unpredicable

Relax everyone...the pavilion has been enclosed and there will be a heater in there as well as a heated building for people to get in to if they get cold along with fire barrels around. You honestly don't think that the Mayor would put anyone in jeopardy of frost bite, etc. just for the sake of having a Festival. I would hope that the Parents would also think to dress the kids warm and kind of control the length of time that they are out also. Yes...we live in Potter County and you can never determine the weather but that is why it is called a Snow Fest...you can't have a Snow Fest in the middle of August. As for the Legion...just because people are going to the Legion doesn't meant that they are going to go their and drink...I will personally be there and will not be drinking...I will be going there for the entertainment. I guess if there isn't something found wrong with everything that is posted here then it would be for nothing to have stuff posted.

Good old government. One agency says stay inside and keep your kids out of the elements. Another agency says come on outside and do stuff in the 25 degrees below zero wind chill.

A lot of different coordinating goes into events like this with a number of different agencies.....I wouldn't think rescheduling would be much of an option. I mean seriously it's snowed during the Maple Festival....It is Potter County, after all. If you are that worried, don't attend. As for the Legion, there is food, drink and entertainment...the proceeds will go back into the community. If you don't want to drink, don't drink. Dress warm, be safe, have fun!
