Work Continues Next Week on I-80 in Montour County

03/25/2016

Montoursville – A multi-year, $30 million project continues next week with night work on Interstate 80 in Montour County.

From 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, to noon Thursday, March 31, prime contractor Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. will remove pavement markings and placing new markings for a new traffic pattern in the westbound lanes. This work will be from the Columbia County line to the Route 54 Interchange.

There will be lane restrictions in place while this work is being performed.

This work is part of a $30 million reconstruction project on I-80 eastbound from Danville to the Columbia County line. The project includes 3.6 miles of reconstruction and bridge work in the eastbound lanes. The project also will include shoulder construction and bridge work in the westbound lanes in order to maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction for the majority of the time during construction.

Other parts of the project include concrete patching in the eastbound and westbound lanes from the Northumberland County line to the Danville interchange. Construction began in late 2015 and will be completed in the fall of 2018.

Motorists should expect delays, be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
