2 car mva head on collision at the top of Red Rock Hill

This morning at 0559hrs Station 11, Station 9 and Ambulance 1 were dispatched to a 2 car mva head on collision at the top of Red Rock Hill. 

Chief 11 (Kelley) was first to arrive on scene to report a large commercial vehicle and a passenger car head on with both lanes blocked. Chief 11 established Red Rock Command and due to poor road conditions requested that both sides of the hill be closed. 

Engine 113 responded to the scene to assist with patient care, stabilization and to clean up a small hazmat spill from spilled fluids. Both Rescue 111 and Engine 93 (Station 9 ) provided traffic control at the bottom of both sides of the hill. One patient was transported to BRMC. Station 11 was assisted on scene by Station 9 and Ambulance 1, Portville Towing, Rain or Shine Towing, Foster Twp Police and PENNDOT. Units were cleared from the scene by Command at 0830hrs when the roadway was open back up for traffic.

Red Rock is dangerous even on dry pavement........people drive too fast and don't stay on their side of the center line. Plus at the top with the tight curve, most large trucks take their half out of the middle of the road.
