Cheryl “Sherry” Ann (Button) Huyler

Cheryl “Sherry” Ann (Button) Huyler, age 63 of Corning, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Corning Hospital. She was born March 5, 1953 in Corning and graduated from Corning East High School.

Sherry was a former member of the Crary Hose Ladies Auxiliary and attended the Quackenbush Hill Baptist Church in Corning. She enjoyed bowling for many years and loved cooking, baking and sewing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching all of them in their sports.

Sherry is survived by her sons, Shawn and Lori Huyler of Nelson and Jason and Jodi Huyler of Troupsburg and their father, Dennis Huyler of Westfield; her grandchildren, Alexis, Madelyn, Seth, Kaitlin and Dylan; her loving companion, Richard Smiley of Corning; brothers and sisters, James “Jim” Button, Wallace Button, Kathy Scouten, Marilyn Gagne, Phyllis Stevens and John Button; her step mother, Geraldine Button of Avoca, NY; her beloved pet dog, Lola and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Huyler; her father, Wallace Button and a sister, Rosie Bliss.

Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, on Sunday, 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7:00PM with Pastor Dan Barner officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, 11:00 AM at the Champlin Cemetery in Westfield. 

 In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sherry’s name to the American Cancer Society, Tioga Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Quackenbush Hill Baptist Church, 3881 College Ave., Corning, NY 14830. To send an online condolence visit,
