Night Work Continues Next Week on I-80 in Montour County

Montoursville – A multi-year, $30 million project continues next week on Interstate 80 in Montour County with night work in the westbound lanes.
Work on I-80 westbound will begin on Tuesday, April 12 and be completed on the morning of Friday, April 15. Work will be performed each day from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The westbound passing lane will be closed between mile 223 and mile 229 while the contractor places subbase stone. Both lanes will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This work is part of reconstruction project on I-80 eastbound from Danville to the Columbia County line. The project includes 3.6 miles of reconstruction and bridge work in the eastbound lanes. The project also will include shoulder construction and bridge work in the westbound lanes in order to maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction for the majority of the time during construction.

Other parts of the project include concrete patching in the eastbound and westbound lanes from the Northumberland County line to the Danville interchange. Construction began in late 2015 and will be completed in the fall of 2018.

Motorists should expect delays, be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
