Night Work Continues Next Week on I-80 in Montour County

Montoursville – A multi-year, $30 million project continues next week on Interstate 80 in Montour County with work in the westbound lanes on Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights.
Work on I-80 westbound will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights and be completed at 7 a.m. each of the following mornings.

The westbound passing lane will be closed from mile 226 to mile 229 while the contractor places subbase stone.

Both lanes will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Thursday, and from 7 a.m. Friday through the weekend.

This work is part of reconstruction project on I-80 eastbound from Danville to the Columbia County line. The project includes 3.6 miles of reconstruction and bridge work in the eastbound lanes. The project also will include shoulder construction and bridge work in the westbound lanes in order to maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction for the majority of the time during construction.

Other parts of the project include concrete patching in the eastbound and westbound lanes from the Northumberland County line to the Danville interchange. Construction began in late 2015 and will be completed in the fall of 2018.

Motorists should expect delays, be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
